cervidil FTM did it work for you?

Question

I am getting induced with the cervidil tonight at 6pm. Wondering if it worked for any other FTM as sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't I'll go home Sunday and go back for pitocin Thursday. I'm 39 weeks and a day, with pregnancy induced hypertension (high blood pressure due to pregnancy) and 1cm dilated and 50% effaced.

I was induced with cervidil at 41+4 with my 2nd full term labor and it only took 8 hours from the time they inserted it to the time she was born. I was only about a fingertip dilated when I started. The contractions got crazy, but still stayed at a fingertip- loose 1 cm. Then they took it out because I couldn't handle anymore contractions. I stood up to go pee, still contracting and by the time I got to the toilet I had to push. Tried so hard to not push for 3 pushes, got back to the bed and the nurse checked me and my daughter was right there. 3 more pushes and she was born. Lol.
