apathy and indifference

My boyfriend thinks I am apathetic towards our relationship which hurts me because I am very invested in my relationship. I would initiate dates and sex more than he does. I'm thinking about our future career together. I spent holidays with his family. We got into fights many times because of this. I would get very defensive when he said I don't care about him. I would say we probably fight over this at least a couple times a month since last year. He admitted he can be very negative sometimes, but overall he believes I love him. However, these fights really affect me. I am tired of convincing him that I do care to the point that I think I'm am becoming apathetic... help!!
