how long after c-section are you mobile?

How many days after c-section were you mobile and able to go up and downstairs without a lot of pain?

If you want mobility quicker, my advice would be to take the drugs they offer you in the hospital so that you are able to stand up and walk around a bit. This will help you recover quicker.  I tried to be tough after my first c-section, didn't take meds, didn't move much, and couldn't even stand long enough to take a shower once I got home.  Second time around, took the drugs, hobbled around, was able to walk around at home and felt like myself after the first week home.  Didn't ever have stairs though- so I don't know about that.

I remember going back into the hospital a week later by myself for an appt, carrying the baby in the car seat across the parking lot and into the hospital. I don't remember having any problems. I took Tylenol and Aleve religiously for about 2 weeks and that did the trick for me. The first 2-3 days are the most painful and after that it tapers slowly I'd say, but remember everyone is different. Do what your body can handle without being uncomfortable, staying mobile will help you heal faster, but obviously lots and lots and lots of rest. I just mean getting up from the couch and bed every now and then. It's really not so bad

I was living in a town home after my second pregnancy and climbed the stairs the day I came home from the hospital, which was 2 flights. I felt perfectly fine. I've never used any of the pain meds they've prescribed because they make me sick, so I stick to Tylenol or ibuprofen.

I think it just depends on you and your pain tolerance.

I was mobile - my first baby was in a NICU - within 12 hours. I was in pain: I was young and very naive and was afraid to take painkillers fir the fear that they leech into milk supply. 
By day 5 post-cesarean , I was sent home and drove home. That same day I was going up and down the stairs- we have 2 floors.

I was walking fine after day ywo and off meds by yhen as well. I dont have the option of not soung stairs as our bedrooms are up stairs but i think i am abnormal in how quickly i recover.   I havnt had any help after baby with all 4 of my C-SECTIONS so i just did what I had to do while hubby was away at work.  Thankfully this time i have some great helpers as my kids are much older for this baby.

I was back, walking across campus, driving my car, and climbing stairs by 8 days postpartum. I also didn't have pain meds after leaving the hospital. I didn't have the luxury of help (hubby was in class or working, and we had no family) so I did everything.

After a c section you can't climb stairs, or do any heavy lifting or work for 8 weeks. The only "heavy" thing they allow you to hold is your baby
