The Clomid Diaries
I started taking clomid 4 days ago. Tomorrow is my last day and I just thought I'd share my experience so far.
I was recently diagnosed with PCOS which is a hormonal imbalance that causes me to ovulate at inappropriate times or not at all. My husband and I have been trying for 3.5 years with no luck, so we decided to take it to the professionals.
A lot of blood work was done and a sample of the little swimmers from my husband before they came to the conclusion that I would be needing help if I wanted to get pregnant any time soon. They gave me a prescription of clomiphene citrate that I was to take on the third day of my next cycle.
The next few weeks seemed to drag on as I waited to start taking this magic pill. Needless to say I was anxious. I've wanted this for so long. So the day finally came and I could start taking it.
It has been smooth sailing so far except for some slight abdominal discomfort. I assume this is my ovaries working in overdrive. I have about one more week before I actually start ovulating (if I actually do) and the days seem to go by just as slowly waiting for that magic moment.
Until then I am taking ovulation tests and tracking my body temp and logging all of my symptoms just trying to keep things on track. I know this has been and will be a long road, but having a family is so worth it to my husband and I.
I know this was a longer post, but I just wanted other woman who may be suffering from PCOS to know that they are not alone. And maybe help other girls who may not know they even have this. We can do this. Baby dust for everyone. ❤
