Falls?

My six month old fell off the couch, only about three feet.. what do I do?

Our doctor said the rule of thumb was if they fell more than 1.5 times their length, lost consciousness, had a visible bump or unusual soft spot, or acted unusual then you should take them in. (My son fell at 2 weeks. He hit near his soft spot so we ended up taking him in and getting a CT scan, but thankfully he was fine.)

As long as baby is acting normal & doesn't seem to be hurting/swollen/bruised/etc he/she should be fine. My first day home from the hospital my brother apparently purposely dropped me off the couch & I was fine. Although, I now question why my parents left a 3 year old & a newborn on the couch alone...

My 4 month old fell of the bed a couple of weeks ago. I was mortified. I did take her to A&E in the end because I thought her neck was swollen. She was completely. Check baby for and bumps. I was told to wake every hour for 6 hours to ensure she didn't sleep too long and have concussion. You're mum and you know your baby. If in doubt get baby checked out.

Mine fell off the bed at 5 or 6 months onto hardwood floor he's good!  I was terrified though

My daughter did that around that age too. She landed on carpet and she was completely fine.

I'm sure he's fine. Has he stopped crying? Did he lose consciousness? I'm guessing he didn't,  but they'll ask you that at tell dr. Have him shrug his shoulders for you and stick out his tongue. If he's acting normal and not having trouble doing the things he normally does, then he's fine. My baby fell of the couch at 2 months old. It scared the freaking crap out of me. 2 month old's aren't supposed to be able to roll over. Lol
