Do your 10-12 month babies feed themselves a bottle?

Question

My SO's mother came to babysit the other night and when we came back she said our daughter didn't drink her bottle...lol mainly because she just gave it to her to do herself. She never feeds herself the bottle and I really wish she would because I'm about to have another baby soon. Do your babies do this? How do you help make them start feeding themselves? She eats food really good on her own but will not hold the bottle at all 😳😳😳 Help!

My daughter is 11 months and feeds herself her sippy cup. She started holding her own bottle around 6 months. If you start feeding her the bottle and she has hands around it take your hands away because she will never learn if you don't show her you got to try doing it  yourself. Just got keep trying because she will get the hang of it eventually. Good luck.

My 11 month old randomly held his own bottle out of nowhere at 5 months a few times but didn't do it again for months (in fairness, I still nurse so honestly, he rarely gets bottles at home but that's what my husband told me). Hubby started encouraging him to hold his own bottle, and now sippy cup, around 9 1/2 months. He doesn't tip it up enough at the end and we have to help him with that part but otherwise he does better each time. Yours will get there too, just start encouraging it

My babe has since 7 months when we started bottle feeding from strictly breast feeding. I was amazed how quick she fed herself. 1. They do make self feeding bottles Google podee. A friend of mine uses them. Not recommended for use all the time bc feedingntimemis bonding time, but when you need your hands it can help out 2. You most likely will be stopping bottles soon, babies should have an intro to the sippy at as early as 6 months. I have cut back on bottle and she mostly drinks from a sippy cup, bottles at night in the morning then one in mid day right now.

Some babies never do it. I knew one.

Mine I started teaching her at 6mos or so because she needed it in car rides sometimes. She always reached for it tho. Coordination was the issue.

My daughter only wants me to do it. She will only feed herself the bottle if she's in her stroller laying back. But she's awesome at feeding herself food!

Since about 4 months as soon as she could she does it herself. My mom tries to still feed her even though she refuses to be held and eat. She wants to do it all by herself. 🤗

My 11th daughter is the opposite she will grab her bottle from me or off the couch pick it up and drink it with no problem but refuses to pick up any food to eat it. I have no idea why!!!

My son has been holding his own bottle at 4 months. I think she should definitely be holding her own bottle at 10 months for sure.
