Does itching cause stretch marks !?

My stomach and boobs are so itchy I'm about to go insane. I use vitamin E and coconut oil every day but between last night and today it has me going crazy. I don't want to itch cause I'm not sure if it causes stretch marks but it's getting to a point where I honestly don't care 😩

Contrary to what other people have said, I've read that scratching breaks the skin under the surface and causes deeper stretch marks. Advice on other forums, state to pat the area where it itches.

I think that itchiness can be a sign you are getting stretch marks, but scratching doesn't give you stretch marks.

I've scratched with every pregnancy, 3rd one now and not a single stretch mark on my belly. Scratching doesnt cause stretch marks, your skin stretching does. Moisturize and stay within the recommended weight gain range. Genetics will take it from there. Either you get them or you don't.

Itching is from the skin stretching and has nothing to do with you getting stretch marks or not. They're hereditary. Drink lots of water and natural oils work well to soothe the itch.
