5 month old nightmares/night terrors?????

Hi ladies.. have any of your babies experienced nightmares or night terrors? My LO sometimes cries in his sleep as if he's having a bad dream and then he'll wake up screaming/crying sometimes I can't calm him down.. there are times when he won't open his eyes even if I hold him/talk to him/bounce and rock him. As if he's still asleep.. has this happened to anyone else's baby?? Does this sound like night terrors? Or just nightmares? How can I help him or what can I do to stop them? It's really scary when he wakes up screaming and crying and is inconsolable 😭😭😭

Yep! Us too! I read an article about night terrors and thats what I really think it is! They said they don't remember it and it scares us more than it does them. I hate it so much though! The article said getting in a good bedtime routine that they can know what to expect before bed helps and a bath before bedtime can also help to alleviate them. We definitely don't always have time for that but I'm trying to work bath time in way more frequently to see if that helps! She doesn't do it every night and she really doesn't at nap times. When it does happen though I try to just rub her back and talk to her and that seems to help the most! I'll pick her up if that doesn't work though. I hate it so much!! It makes me feel sick to hear those terrible cries especially if I'm half asleep 🙁
