Should you change your name after divorce?

I am in the process of getting a divorce. Problem is I don't know what to do about my last name! I don't want to keep his, but I'm also not fond of my maiden name... it doesn't feel like that's who I am anymore. I would like to just pick a completely new last name but I'm wondering if you loving glow ladies think that be just too weird ? Thanks!

Its really up to you. If i were to divorce it would depend on if i have kids or not. If i do i would probably keep the name if not i would go back to my maiden name.

When I got divorced I went back to my maiden name as soon as I could BUT I really loved my maiden name.

I will say that it caused a lot of confusion at my job. A lot of people saw my name had changed, and because I was young assumed I had just gotten married. Then years later when I remarried (while still at the same company) people got REAL confused

It's up to you and how you feel. When my mom got married to my dad she gave me his last name. After they got divorced she went back to her normal name. It never really caused any confusion for anyone except a few people at school who assumed we had the same name but I wasn't offended by it. If you think it's an opportunity to start anew then do so. If you just want to go back to your previous name, you can do that too. Follow your instincts.

It depends;
1. Do you two have children? And would you like to have the same last name as them?
2. You can pick a whole different name ...but it's a different process. During a divorce you can only go back to your maiden name. If you want something else you have to file and pay a change of name request...usually costs $75 or more.
