Would you pierce your daughters ear before a yr?

We don't know what we're having yet but if we have a girl. I would like to her ears pierced before she gets to big and messes with them. Thoughts?!

No way. Let them get old enough and decide for themselves.

I has my daughters ears pierced when she was two months old. She is now over 2 and has never had any issues. I know some people are very against this but I would do it again without hesitation.

My mom had mine & my sisters ears pierced both when we were a month old (she's now 10 & I am 19) & neither of us have ever had any problems. If I was having a girl, she would definitely be getting her ears pierced early on before she can grab at them.

I think to each as own.  I wanted to wait until she was ready.  I would ask her and she would say no.  Then when she was 5 she came and asked me and we went.  It was a fun bonding moment for us.

Personally I hate seeing baby's with their eyes pierced. I know some people love it but I'm not a fan. When my daughter is old enough to ask me to get her ears pierced then I'll have no problem taking her to get it done. My daughter also pulled at her ears a lot when teething so I'm sure it would've caused problems but who knows! It's all up to you, what your personal feelings are on it.

My daughter is 4 1/2 and hasn't had them done yet. I am waiting for her to want them and so she can learn to care and be responsible.
