cervidil experiences?

Hi guys! So obviously I got a cervidil insertion today (I'm 40 weeks) and I'll be going back to the hospital tomorrow to see if there was any progress. Have any of you gotten this, and if so what was your experience? I was 1cm dilated when they put it in and am paranoid it's not gonna work the first time. I am cramping pretty badly every 10 minutes about so really hoping it does.
