I had an excellent childhood with very devoted and loving parents but definitely won't do everything the same.

My husband grew up in a small town and I grew up in the city. Our children will likely be raised in a small town and be required to work and contribute to a savings account during high school.

I ate a lot of pizza rolls and McDonalds growing up but I will not feed my kids junk.

I won't snoop through their things or read their journals unless I believe they are unsafe. But I probably will make them take drug tests. It's required for most jobs and their developing minds are so fragile.

I will educate them about sexuality and their bodies from an early age and try to keep and open dialogue with them on all topics.

Sports are a required activity. They can choose what they play but they'll have to be on a team.

My childhood was more focused on working to bring in money for the roof over our heads. So no that's not how I'm raising my kids. But even if I did want to raise them the same; I wouldn't be able to. Because TECHNOLOGY has changed how everyone parents their children

In order to actually improve as a society and as individuals we really should be learning from our parents mistakes.
No parent is perfect. You may love the way your parents brought you up but they surely weren't perfect, and to learn from what few mistakes they might've made means your own kids get an even better upbringing.

We shouldn't reproduce exactly how our parents raised us. They were not perfect and neither we are. We should think of the way we were raised critically. Some things worked well, most didnt. Also, they were raised in a totally different time and their ways wont fit in that day and age anymore.

We adapt. Thats what we do. We evolve and to do so, we have to adapt. For me, reproducing the exactly same things that was done to you is stupid.

Yes absolutely. I am happy with the way I was raised. My parents were strict, and very religious. They raised us with very high moral standards from the Bible, kept us away from bad crowds and taught us wrong from right and didn't let us get into trouble to see for ourselves. We were very sheltered and that's how I'll be raising my kids too. Prevention is better than cure 💪🏼
