So I know it's already been six weeks since and this post is late, I've just been so busy between appointments and getting all the paperwork in check and raising my precious little angel. I was due on January 21st of this year, on December 16 I went in for a regular checkup and was immediately sent to the hospital. After several hours of test and being looked at an monitored, I was told I had preeclampsia and I would have to be induced. It was a bit overwhelming and I was so worried for my baby as I was still 34 weeks pregnant. Over the next 24 hours I had to have 2 steroid shots administered to help my baby's lungs develop before birth. I was put on magnesium sulfate and labeled a fall risk patient. I was hooked up everywhere, 4 monitors, an IV, a catheter, massage boots to keep my legs from forming blood clots. I had 18 tubes of blood withdrawn and was being checked every 2 hours aside from not being allowed to eat for a little over 2 days. 1 day before I was 35 weeks, my beautiful baby girl was born. I got to hold her for a fraction of a second when they took her to get her breathing going. She was taken to the NICU and I had to stay 3 more days. I was not allowed to leave my room to see her very often as I was still on heavy medication for a time and my blood pressure shot up every time I would leave my room. Out was so hard to be in the same hospital with my baby and not get to see her often or for very long. It was even harder to leave the hospital without her. Thank God she was doing well though. She was on c pap for about 2 days, under the jaundice light for about 3 days, and mostly kept there to help her learn to eat on her own before we could bring her home. After 8 agonizing days of not having her with me for more than just minutes or a couple of hours at a time we were finally able to bring her home. My husband and I were both excited and nervous, She was so tiny and seemed so delicate. Thank God, It's been 6 weeks and 1 day and she is finally just under 8 pounds. She was 5 pounds 4 ounces on the day she was born and the day we brought her home. She is healthy and she is beautiful and I am sup grateful that God took care of us in this difficult time. I absolutely love my beautiful blessing and it was alll worth it to have her here.
