sterile? secret birth control?

Can you really become sterile if you start on birth control to young? I'm 13, terrible cramps to where I'm bed ridden and in tears plus a heavy period. I asked my parents if I could go on birth control and they freaked out. Asking me if I want as having sex. I said no (because I'm not) and that it was just to control my period. They freaked out again, saying that "there is no way in hell that you are taking pills you don't need". Is there anyway to get birth control without them knowing???

I'm 13 too and my cramps are terrible as well to the point that I pass out. I made an appointment with my doctor and she told me that she thought It would be best to put me on birth control and so I use it. She as well said that she can give me it without telling my parents but she would be obliged to tell them about the pills. I think you should talk with your doctor and have him/her explain to you and your parents the best decision. So you wouldn't have to hide it

If there are any free clinics or planned parenthoods around, maybe. But because you are so young, I'm not too sure they would let you unless with the consent of a parent. But I'm not sure. I don't think it makes you sterile but some women have experienced infertility. I don't believe birth control is the proven reason but just suspected as a possibility for some. Maybe try talking to your doctor and he or she can explain it to your parent if they think it's a good idea for you. I think it's good to see a gynecologist about the pain you're experiencing anyway.
