**This is my situation right now, I turn 18 in June and he turns 21 in September. My mom seems alright with it, but my dad isn't because he's an adult and I'm a minor.**

As long as he us a decent person it's fine, if he was an awful person no matter what age I would be mad, but 17 and 20 is fine as long as he's respectful

That's only a 3 year difference and above the age of consent so, not a big deal, plus she'll be 18 soon. I was 15 when I met my SO and he was 18 😬 but we're still together now at 20 & 23~

I was 17 when I met my bf who was 20 now I'll be turning 19 in a month and he'll be 22 in august. Some parents don't like it because your still in high school. But once your 18 it wouldn't matter

I'm saying this in all due respect okay. I am currently 25. My first love affair was when I was 17 years old, he was 27. So No I wouldn't overreact and judge you kid too harshly, try not to assume anything until You are able to Open and very real sincere discussion with them. Invite the 20 year old to this discussion. Be an adult about this situation please, don't brow beat your kid or make them feel guilty or make them feel like they are wrong or immoral for falling in love with someone older than themselves. Don't shame them or blame them.

I had my folks disown me and treat me as an outsider due to the fact that at Any very Early Age I discovered very truthfully and sincerely I Preffered to date Older Men.

This is a very difficult thing to swallow for parents, but please support your kid, love them, be understanding. So compassion and trust and openness to their relationship. Don't judge them and push them away because this is something that you can not or will not accept.

My boyfriend (hopefully soon to be fiance) is 27 and I am 19. The 8 year difference doesn't make a difference to us, the old the men are the more mature they are, because men mature slower than women, my boyfriend and I are basically at the same maturity level.
