early pregnancy hcg levels and cyst???

Question

I have been following hcg levels after an ER visit due to some abdominal pain.

I was having some dull aching on my left side so went to ER at 5w1d. They were able to see a sac in uterus but not much more because it's early. They did see a 3cm simple cyst on my ovary which could be causing the dull ache. I see my OB in 2 days to follow up

My hcg levels were
7,000 at 5w1d
16,700 at 5w3d

Is that a normal increase? Also will the simple cyst affect the baby at all? Thanks everyone.

Your levels are suppose to increase & everyone gets a cyst during pregnancy as the baby grows it gets smaller.

My ob told me that a cyst on the ovary the released the egg is essential to a viable pregnancy. No cyst not a viable pregnancy. I was told it's a great sign that this pregnancy will stick

Yes it's normal. And a cyst doesn't affect the pregnancy at all. It goes away on its own. I had one at 5w 5d that was causing me to bleed, but it turned out fine.
