ahhh don't know what to do

I want to mail my long distance bf a Valentine's Day gift. But it will deliver on Valentine's Day not any earlier. I don't want him to feel bad if he doesn't get me something. I tried like hinting and all that I'm sending him something but he hasn't really caught on. I know last year he mailed me something and I didn't and felt horrible.
