Did anyone have ambiocentesis test done?

Does it hurt? What exactly do they do?

I found the risk of a miscarriage was too great for me to even risk having it done.

Had it done about a month ago. Not much initial pain, but very uncomfortable when the needle enters the uterus wall. However, I had a level two ultrasound at the same time, so I got to see the baby moving the whole time. No complications afterwards. Waiting sucks but the results are worth it.

The blood tests don't completely replace amnio. The blood testing is very good, but if abnormal then the amnio can still give more information in some cases. It's a pretty nuanced difference, and should be carefully discussed with your OB.

You can replace it with a blood test. Less risky and just as accurate.
