Am I missing something??

Question

My baby is very gassy. He does not get formula and he does not drink from a bottle. Was just told by someone that my baby must have colic instead of gas because babies don't get gas from breast feeding...is farting not gas? Because that's what I mean when I say gassy. He's farting. A LOT.

They do get gassy from breastfeeding due to what mom eats! What u eat baby eats.... if it has the possibility to give you gas, it will definitely give baby gas!!!!

Breastfed babies still swallow air when they are breastfeeding, crying, or have the hiccups. So if the air doesn't come up as burps, it goes down as gas.

That's false. Breastfed babies can be gassy. I would cut out dairy and stay away from gassy foods like broccoli. When i ate chocolate my my girl was soooo gassy and fussy.

My guy can't handle me eating broccoli. He was up all night the 2 days I ate it for lunch. He still gets gas here and there, probably from dairy, but nothing too bad.

I used to drink a gallon of milk in 3 days, plus eat yogurt and cheeses. Once i cut most of dairy out of my diet my son has been alot less gassy and much happier.

They gave me apple juice in the hospital after I delivered and I swear it was the best thing I'd ever drank in my life. So my MIL bought me like 3 jugs of it. Finally after drinking one of them in about 2 days I remembered what it can do to your GI tract. Poor gassy baby. No more juice for me. I'd take a look at your diet. My baby still toots a lot, but it doesn't seem to bother her like it did before.

They can get gas from breast feeding. If you eat certain foods, they are known to affect breast milk. Broccoli, dairy, onions for example. I remember eating yogurt covered raisins, and I mean a lot in one sitting and my poor baby had the nastiest diarreah ever... and so did I lol.

I stopped breast feeding at 3 months almost, and my son has been on sensitive formula since and he has always, even as a newborn sounded like a 50 year old man farting. I was suprised at how much too.

If your son seems in pain, do bicycles with his legs several times a day. You can also put a warm towel on his belly or a warm bath and let him soak in it. I ended up putting my son on probiotic drops for a week (6drops a day 1 ineach  bottle ). The gerber brand also addresses gas, and it made a world of a difference. One sign of colic is  that at certain hour in the day your baby will start crying and being fussy and it can last for hours. He may also seem in pain and fussy after every feeding. If your baby is doing this, try the drops. They are sold over the counter at any pharmacy or major retailer like Walmart/ target.You can express or pump some breast milk and either feed with a seringue or bottle.

Yeh farting is gas lol I had to give up some foods cuz my baby could tolerate me eating them and he's EBF. So if he's upset maybe check your diet out? My guy can't have me eat dairy and some other things. Hes better but I think there may be some hidden dairy I'm not thinking of. There's a note on the back of my cumin seasoning bottle may contain milk. So that's why I think there's gotta be more lol
