need advice!

Hey all, I could really use some help making a decision. We are completely renovating our kitchen and won't be done until I'm around 38 weeks. Sounds stressful enough to be organizing a kitchen at that point, but doable (and worth it!). Now my husband wants to make some changes that will mean we have no functioning kitchen until after the baby is here. Is that a totally insane decision? Is there a scenario where that's worthwhile? Am I being unreasonable in saying no way? We will have help from my MIL. I'm a guest time mom so I only know I'm in for no sleep but don't truly know what to expect. Thank you! And I realize these are first world problems for sure.
