Do babies usually wear swimsuits or just wear diapers?

I have one of those disposable water diapers for swimming. Do babies (<1 year) need to wear swim trunks over that, or is it acceptable for them to just wear the diaper?

I don't think it really matters honestly...I bought mine a swimsuit because it was too stinking cute lol

I bought swim trunks but only used them once. It was just easier using the diaper especially since we weren't in that long anyways and it made changing him easier. It's difficult to take them off when they're all wet

I just get my kids the swim diapers that are maid of cloth. They look like bathing suits and are designed to hold in the poop. Girls comes on two piece designs and boys comes on trunks or diaper shaped.

Swim suit over in case anything ends up in that diaper. One extra layer of protection

It's acceptable for either or . It's more about what your comfortable with, Baby doesn't care . With my daughter I put a swim suit over but that was because she's a girl lol
