My mother in law makes me want to pull my hair out sometimes.
I'm white and my husbands entire family is from Puerto Rico, my mil was actually born there and came to America as a child.
Now what bothers me is she is so against illegal immigrants and loves the fact that trump is sending people back (even legal immigrants) because they "need to go back to their country" yet she is an immigrant 🙄
Like I realize that Puerto Rico is an American territory and she's technically always been a citizen but she still came from another place to have a better life here in America and she says shit like this. It really gets under my skin. Sometimes her point of view is so different from mine, it scares me that she will force her views on my future children.
She's also a giant homophobe and transphobe and I don't stand for that at all. It worries me for the future because I don't want my children to get ideas from her that these ways of thinking are okay. I want them to accept everyone.
