No way! My hubby's parents did that and I think it's dumb! Just name your kid what he/she will be called.

My son will have two middle names. I love all three names. So, for fun, I plan on calling him whichever name I feel like calling him 💁. He'll choose which he likes best as he grows over. I won't mind what he would like to go by.

Only time I call my son by his middle name is when he's in trouble and that's only been about 3 times in 5 years lol.

My brother did growing up...my grandpa, father, brother, and nephew all have the same name so we have to change it up some how! Don't see anything wrong with it.

We will be calling our son by his middle name if we end up having a boy. We are using a family name that is very important to us, and had planned to let it be the middle name, but it just didn't flow well. Since it was significant we didn't want to change the name, so we just switched it around. Honestly, who cares?

I think it's a southern thing. To have a first name which is normally a family name and then to be called by your middle name. My brother is Kyle but we call him Donavan (his middle name) and I never questioned it because I go by my middle name as well lol.

My first son and husband have the same name so we call my son by his middle name. Lately he's wanted to by called by his first name so we've been trying.

My mother in law uses her middle name but I believe her parents started that not her.

Two of my brothers did this, Joshua & Joshua Brayden - Jordan & Jordan Kyle, & I personally don't care for it. I think you should name them what you plan to call them! Totally my opinion though. Whatever makes sense to you!
