Baby boy has arrived (ouch labour story)

becca
My gorgous baby boy was born today just after 11:00am on Valentines Day at 41 weeks +2.
What a labour it was!
It started on Friday evening (latent phase) with cramps that came every 20 mins then every 5 etc) went into hospital Saturday and got sent home. Then Saturday evening stronger cramps definately contractions all night went into hospital and was told is dialated but still no where near ready - go home and wait it out.
2am Sunday morning- I'm in agony can't keep my body still, contractions in every position. Go into hospital again turned away!
Finally at 5pm Monday after spending the whole of the weekend awake and in pain with severe burning pelvic pressure I Go into hospital once more! This time I knew it was on. Midwife took me to the assessment room where I could not sit or lie down for the pain and agony of the contraction - she left the room to grab supplies and my ulmighty waters broke. And conditioned to gush out with every contraction.
Got into the delivery suite and was refused my pool birth, at this point I was having back to back contractions which were causing me to scream out. The midwife offered me gas and air which I at first refused as I was scared of feeling out of it. Eventually I wanted to feel out of it and got into it it helped reduce contractions slightly but still couldn't sit/lie down.
Eventually due to lack of progress they suggested hormone drip and epidural- the only problem was to receive the epidural I would need to sit down, something that the crippling contractions wouldn't let me do. So a midwife and my partner held me down as I gasped for dear life on the gas and air and they put the epidural in. Instant relief! Could sit down for the first time in days.
By 10 o clock Monday morning it was decided that I still wasn't progressing enough and baby was showing signs of distress in the womb. They suggested I'd need emergency c section and a stronger epidural. Not happy and petrified I agreed. The spinal tap made me unable to use my legs or feel and part of my body except for head and arms. I had a panick attack on the operating table. But eventually on Tuesday morning appeared my gorgous baby boy. He was having difficulty breathing and was whisked off to be assessed. Drugged and confused I was  wheeled around lol In a massive daze. Baby weighed over 10 lb?!
He's not in the room with us yet but been to breast feed him at the clinic tonight. Love love love him. But not going to lie my labour was brutal.
