driving lessons

I will be getting professional lessons , I have no driving experience never been behind the wheel of a car, so I was wondering will it be best to do both the in class instructions and the behind the wheel lessons? I am on a tight budget and don't want to spend hundreds of dollars on both , I found a drivers school that offers 2 hour lessons for $100 I'm considering doing just the 2 hours and probably teaching myself from there what do you guys think?
