Copper IUD?

Question

I'll be soon to getting the Copper IUD in me. I've NEVER had an IUD before. 
Any experiences? Side effects? Did it hurt when they put it in you? 
I always like to know before hand. Thanks!

I had one fitted at 4.30 today by 5 o’clock I was crying in agony for my mum to take me to hospital to get it removed I had nearly a whole bottle of painkiller sickness tablet painkiller tablet cocodimal and  Morphine! I was still in so much pain after all these I had to talk have a chest skan they couldn’t get a reading of my blood pressure where I was shaking so much and had to have it removed I was getting the worst contractions however it’s the best thing my mum has ever had she loves it the don’t recommend it to people who haven’t given birth before

I had one, and I loved it.   It caused my periods to be much heavier but it never hurt.  I had to get it out because it had fallen out of place and was embedded.  I was super sad when I had to get it removed :(

Better to get it inserted on your period, so they don't have to open your cervix too much. I had mirena , I liked it, didn't get my period after a month, that was cool . But when I was supposed to have af I had serious cramps. But for 5 years it was worth it
