Has anyone tried this? metformin/PCOS
My doctor put me on Metformin mixed with pioglitazone. I've been reading studies on pioglitazone and have read great things. Has anyone successfully gotten pregnant by curing their insulin resistance? Has anyone tried this drug? From what I'm reading online it seems like a miracle drug. Here's some stuff I found online from two separate studies. One on 100 women (clomid vs pioglitazone) and one on 9 women (just pioglitazone).
"RESULT(S): Seven of nine women became pregnant at an average of 11.3 weeks of initiation of pioglitazone. Four of seven pregnant cases conceived after the first successful induction of ovulation with the initiation of pioglitazone, and two cases conceived after the second cycle."
"Ovulation rate was significantly higher in the pioglitazone + metformin and CC group than the metformin and CC group (69.8% versus 48.8%). Also, cummulative pregnancy rate was significantly higher in the pioglitazone + metformin and CC group than the metformin and CC group (58% versus 34%)."
