hubby giving baby Root beer

Hey guys. So we eating dinner out and my baby is 3 months. I come from the bathroom and I see my husband dip our son pacifier in sum root beer and my son sucks. Now I freak out! He laughing at me like it's funny saying "he just sampling". Now my baby was just licking his lips but still... Was I wrong? How would you react?
