Does it seem like I have depression?

I've had these feelings since I was 13 and I also know I have anxiety. But I've never been sure if I have depression because I've never been suicidal. I texted this to my husband to try to explain how I feel. What do you ladies think? I know I need to seek help, and I am looking for a therapist that will take my insurance. But does it seem like I have depression?

Its very hard to say. I would say everyone has those days, to an extent. I personally think it depends on how it affects your daily life.  You should get someone to talk to if you feel you need to. Depressed or not, probably everyone would feel good going to a therapist once in a while. Try to think that you are doing this to take care of yourself and your health, like going to the gym. Not because something is wrong with you.

A professional is the only one who can diagnose depression. I know you want a quick answer, but you do need to seek help. Generally if you call your insurance they can provide you with therapists that are covered.

Based on my own personal experience, these could be signs, yes. But as everyone else has said it's a good idea to talk to your doctor.

You certainly could have depression. We cannot diagnose you and that needs to come from a psychologist because there are a number of things that could cause these feelings. But it does sound as though you are depressed, and possibly not dealing with your emotions. When you said that it feels like you have no emotions and your head feels empty, and then you seek out more ways to feel sad… That could be because there's something deep down within you that you are not dealing with and your mind is telling you that you need to stop feeling these emotions. So it causes you to almost feel numb and then in order to feel something again, you search out more pain. Whatever it is that you're not dealing with, needs to brought to your subconscious mind and resolved. If there is nothing that you can remember or think of, then you may be looking at a chemical imbalance that medication could help you manage. I think it's great that you're looking for a therapist.
