Husband works 2nd shift so his only time to see his kids is on the weekend. Well the past 3 months he's been spending his weekends drinking with his friends and then sleeps it off the entire next morning. I warned him that he is affecting our 7yr old. He didn't believe me. The past 3 weeks now our 7yr old has suddenly started purposely digging her nails into her arms making huge scratch marks, pulling her hair out, and saying things like "nobody loves me so I'm just going to kill myself" or that she hopes she doesn't wake up tomoro and dies. The smallest action of rejection (as small as going to the park at 6 when we said we would go at 5) sends her into this "Im nobody" rant balling her eyes out. He sat down with her this weekend and apologized for being so absent lately and promised not to drink anymore but it seems like he's already done the damage, saying sorry won't help her. My heart breaks so much for her. How do I help my child before something worse happens?!
