implant and periods.

Hi. I've had the implant in just literally about a year now. I only ever used to spot very lightly for about a day or two. A few days ago I started a period ! And it's been a lot heavier. I mean it's not awfully heavy but damn it's a lot worse than what I'm used to. I woke up with half soaked underwear and awful back ache moodiness and cramps and awful bloating too! This is unusual to me as I've not had a period since it got put in. Is this normal ? It's really making me think getting it removed.
