freaking out about induction
I'm getting induced tonight--yay! (And for curious moms: it's an elective induction, today is my due date, I am 3cm dilated, 80% effaced, and have had an unsuccessful membrane sweep.)
But here's why I'm freaking out: While I am all about medical interventions and pain management, I HATE being away from home. I don't see ANY reason to stay in a hospital after having an uncomplicated birth, and I know so many people who stay for upwards of 72 hours!!! One of my good friends had her baby on Saturday afternoon, and it's now Monday morning and she's STILL there. Neither of them had any complications whatsoever.
Yes, I understand that many people enjoy the rest that a hospital is able to provide them, but I'm not that girl. I have my husband and mom to help out, and I'd much rather be at home. I will be miserable stuck in a hospital.
So ladies, if you're like me, tell me the tricks to get out faster. If there is no medical reason for us to stay, what do I have to do in order to be discharged?
