Open relationship

So I was wondering if any of you have ever been in an open relationship? How was it, why, and how did it work out? Please feel free to share your experiences! 

I have a boy that I like, but I don't have the "right feelings" for him. We have the best sex ever 🤤 And we connect really good. But we both want to experience more and we don't want to settle down into a relationship just yet. We have both been through some rough times when it comes to love and we figured maybe we could try an open relationship because we fancy each other so much and just want the other one to feel safe and good.
