Anyone have trich?

Basically its a disorder were you pull your hair out and I have this and was wondering if anyone else has it
I've had it for 4 years and currently three months and 2 weeks pull free :)

I do. I started when I was 10. I'm not pull-free but I haven't needed a head cover in 3 years!

I have this really badly with my eyelashes! When I get nervous I pull out my eyelashes vigorously. I've done it since I was young!

Sometimes i pull just a few lashes and I don't mind but other times I pull out almost all of them from both top eyelids..I hate it. I can go months without doing it and suddenly I do it again. I've got no clue how to stop.

I do not have it but I had a friend in junior high that did. She got to the point where her eyebrows and eyelashes would not grow back... She also would eat her hair sometimes to try and hide it.. She ended up getting a hairball (called a trichobezoar) that needed to be surgically removed. It was very scary for her family and those of us closest to her. Some of the hair had started clogging her gastrointestinal tract to the point where she would throw up everything she ate.

Congratulations on being pull free. It's a lot more serious of a condition that people who haven't experienced it (either first hand, or as a concerned observer). Keep it up... do you have a good support system? That is the one thing that helped my friend the most. I thinks she's been mostly pull free since 2001 (junior year of high school) - she's had a couple relapses, but nothing major.

I'm so happy someone posted about this because I have a client who has this!! I wax her eyebrows and every now and then she comes in a says "sorry I pulled out all my brows, so we'll have to start from scratch!" Like it's nothing!! It's irritating to me as a professional who is trying to perfect them, but I have to understand that it's a real condition and something she does when she's stressed/nervous.

I don't have this condition. But my grandmother has this thing where when she has a nervous break down or just really stressed, she goes into the bathroom and cuts all her hair off.  Don't know if that is kinda the same thing. Never knew it was a actual condition.
