Is Birth Control Worth It?

I'm 18, and have a steady boyfriend of over a year. I have been contemplating getting on birth control, but I'm not sure if it will be worth the trouble. I've never had any pregnancy scares, and we use a condom every time. He also pulls out before he cums. I will be leaving for college, 6 hours away from home soon, so I'm not sure if it will be worth the trouble since he will not go with me. Any suggestions? Also, what method of birth control is suggested. Thank you!

For the record, condoms ARE A FORM OF BIRTH CONTROL.

Whether you decide to use two forms (say, condom and the pill) is to you - it will obviously further reduce the chances of pregnancy (by a very small amount) when used correctly

However, always use at least one form to prevent unwanted pregnancies :)

Remember, only condoms prevent STDs

I would definitely say yes. But i would recommend a non hormonal kind. So you don't have to worry about the effects it has on your body and TTC later on in life

100% worth it. I stared it right away when I first started having sex at 17 and kept taking it even when I was single and wasn't having sex. You never know what could happen and I would rather prevent getting pregnant than have it happen when I wasn't ready. I took the pill religiously until my husband and I had been married for two years and were completely ready for a child.
