Emergency Surgery Disaster...
So just as the title states, I had emergency surgery on Friday. I have a 4 month old little girl and I've literally been balling my eyes out because of how useless I feel being laid up. These last 4 months have been a blessing and a nightmare all rolled up into one. So I'll start with the beginning of the week...
Tuesday I took my LO to her 4 month check up to find out that the "cold" I took her in on Monday for was a little more serious. She was running a fever of over 101. I blame the birth mother of my stepson for this as we asked if he is running a fever (which we found out he was) that he stay home and get well. I'm pretty good about having the kiddo wash his hands and what not, and we love having him over. But with myself having such a weak immune system and the baby, my husband and I would rather not risk it.
Anyway Thursday rolls along, it's the hubbys burthday. We celebrate by doing free breakfast and lunch. Which unfortunately my gallbladder wasn't having any of that, and at 6 am Friday morning I was admitted to the ER, a couple hours later prepped for surgery and next thing you know I'm in recovery.
I'm frustrated though... because it's taken me months to get my LO to breastfeed... she's been on a nursing strike, and here I am trying my best to breastfeed her in the most comfortable positions. Cesarean moms! I feel your pain!!!
But it's just been a mess, the baby has been in dirty clothes, hasn't been bathed, and sits in a dirty diaper unless I make dad fix it... and all I can do is lay recovering on the couch... on top of that my husband has been trying to force her to take naps just so he can play the new Zelda game... I just wish I had more help :(
