Is it ok to put the car seat in the middle?

My husbands truck gets super tight with the car seat in. He is trying to convince me that it's safer to have her in the middle because the edges of the seat secure the car seat tightly along with the normal reatraints and if we were in an impact it would keep our seats from squishing her.

It just makes me nervous...I've always been told to put it on the sides.

I think they actually say middle is safest. People jut don't cuz it's harder to get out.

Middle is actually the recommended spot to place the car seat.  However the drivers and passengers front seats should not be touching the seat at all.

It's the safest! I actually paid safety person to come to my house and install/teach us car seat safety and he said the middle is best :)

I'd put ours in the middle but it doesn't fit there it won't get tight enough. It's safest where it can be tightest and more secure.

I have mine in the middle. I feel its safest there!!! You never know if some idiot hits you on the side of the vehicle!!! Its harder to get carseat in nd out but i don't care as long as my daughter is safe! Im short nd my truck is lifted lol so its very hard

I have 4 daughters and I've always put their seats in the middle. Can't imagine being hit on the side and my baby car seat is by the door, that's all I think about when I see others with the seats by the door. Not trying to scare you, that's just my logic

Middle is actually safest...if it doesn't fit I would put it somewhere else, but if it fits I would absolutely use the middle:)
