No gloves for specimen collection!

Has this ever happened to you? Okay so maybe I'm overreacting but I found this to be very disgusting and unprofessional! I took my daughter in to the lab this morning for some blood work to see why she has been in pain with vomiting. The lady that drew the blood isn't even the person who normally does it, she actually looked to be a receptionist! Well Normally when I go for blood work the ALWAYS wear gloves, even to check for a vein!! Nope, not this woman! This lady gets ready to draw blood, but never put gloves on! She didn't even put the tube in for the blood draw, she literally took a syringe to suck out the blood. Then she took the needle and filled the tubes with less than a quarter full. This woman got blood on her hands, proceeded to wipe it off with the same bloody cotton ball she used on my daughter and then went to fool with the toilet for a urine collection. Yuck! Not once did she wash her hands. She also left the dirty needle out on the table because she didn't know what to do with it. 😖
