do I need a breast pump??

So I'm only going to breast feed until I go back to work which will probably be a month- a month and a half after I have the baby. My job doesn't exactly allow time for me to do that so do I really need a breast pump if I'm going to be home the whole time I'm doing it?

I can see how logistically it would be difficult to find the time to pump when you have a job like that. However, in the US employers have to provide you with breaks and pumping accommodations. That being said I know a lot of people still don't get regular breaks. You can still make pumping work even if you have that 5hr stretch during the day that it just isn't possible. Pumping can help your milk come in, help increase your supply, and can help you build up a stash for when you do go back to work. Your insurance should cover the cost of the pump as well.

No but it might be nice to pump and u can freeze it or even chill it so u have time while at work to transition to breast milk to formula just an idea

If you only want to breastfeed for the time you're home with baby, you really don't need a pump.

But there are probably solutions if you want to pump and work. Your job has to provide unpaid time and there are pumps with car chargers. I have pumped in the car many times while chowing lunch. The nursing cover looked like a giant bib. 😄

Don't jobs have to legally allow time for pumping? Maybe I'm thinking of rules in a different country tho
