Struggling with pregnancy body
Hi! First time mom and first time posting.. I've always been very conscious of my body and weight. Pre-pregnancy I was very active, I worked out 4-5x a week and watched what I ate. I gained around 15 lbs after my husband and I got married (comfort weight? Happy marriage? Call it what you will) but I worked really hard to lose that weight and tone up my body.
When I got pregnant I weighed 155 lbs (5 ft 7), the first trimester I lost just a couple pounds, 153 at my first OB appt at 11 weeks. Now I'm 19 weeks (tomorrow) and weight fluctuates between 158-159 lbs. I feel like I'm eating all the time, I'm making healthy choices on what I eat for the most part.. but I'm really struggling with my body right now. I walk our dog 3 miles almost everyday and add gym visits about 3x times a week with light cardio and free weights. I've definitely developed a low bump below my belly button, but I feel more fat than pregnant. My husband can't keep his hands off me, but I'm so uncomfortable in this awkward stage. I don't think I look pregnant and these body changes have been really hard for me. We were about to go out to dinner tonight, I got dressed and just couldn't bring myself to leave the house. I felt itchy in my own skin and wanted the clothing off me immediately.
Anyone have advice on this stage of the pregnancy? How do I overcome this idea of feeling fat or embrace my changing body.
Thanks, and congrats to all the mamas!
