another MIL rant

My MIL and I have some good days where we get along then bad days where she is an ass. It has been like this from day one and I have posted about other issues regarding her in the past. Well I just went back to work part time and my son is in day care 3 days a week. The day care is a home day care run by a neighbor that I have known since childhood myself and she only has a handful of kids so they get hands on attention all the time. My son loved it there (he is 10 months). I love it too and I think it's great. Well the other day I saw my MIL and she told me that she doesn't like him being in day care because none of her other kids or grandkids went to day care they were all watched by parents or grandparents etc. Now don't get me wrong I would love to stay home with my son but financially we can't afford it. Luckily I was able to stay home for 10 months with him before going back and now I'm greatful for working part time so I still spend time with him. Anyway she goes I don't trust day cares because no one takes care of a baby as well as the mother. She then goes on to pull out her phone and shows me Facebook videos, newspaper articles and picture of children abused in daycare or killed at the hands of day care workers. She then tells me this is what I'm doing to my son by keeping him in day care. So I turned to her and said why can't you watch my son (she is actually not allowed to be with my son alone for other reasons so that wouldn't work anyway) and she goes well I work, so I said ok quit and she responds well I can't because we need te money so I said then you keep your mouth shut about what I do with my family. And she was like hannah I'm just trying to help and I was like no you're being an asshole. And my SO as usual excuses her actions saying oh she doesn't know any better because of her age or because of the language barrier and I'm like no she's trying to make me feel bad she knows exactly what she is doing. What a fucking bitch. 😤
