What are some things you want to teach your child?

With all that is going on in the world what are some things you would like to teach your child? will it be similar to your home values as a child?

Answer

Buddhist philosophy. 
Be kind and compassionate to everyone. Don't use violence to solve problems. Don't speak without first asking yourself "is it true? Is it necessary? Is it kind?"
Objects are not important; material things will not make you happier. Never stop questioning and learning about the world around you.

I'm most proud that my children don't see color or race,   I do believe it's something that is taught.

My kids have learned very early on that its people's prerogative to be straight, gay or transgendered etc. you have a right to live how you want.

There's a lot of good were trying to teach him (5 yo). But it's what we've NOT taught him is what I'm happiest about. He does not know the concept of race. We are white. He has mixed cousins, black uncles, Indian teachers, black teachers, Hispanic friends, etc.... He never descibes anyone by their race (I've never taught him that). If I ask him which teacher, he describes her classroom, or names her students. If I say what does she look like, he says short hair, or things like that. He's 5 and he does not know race exists. I may be being big headed, but I think I'm on to something💜
