Does anyone know what this is?

It's at tge back of my sons neck,  doc said it was a salmon patch but why has it got yellow stuff on it

My first daughter had this on he neck as well. They said it was a stork bite. It would get really red and dry/rough especially when she was hot. I used various different creams and lotions to try to get rid of it but it went away on its own after she turned 2. 
Just try not to let it get too dry. And maybe get some Rosacea cream from a dematologist.

In the uk we call this a stork mark, from where the stork carried them. My 3 nearly 4 year old has got one and my newborn has too :) they may fade but never completely go. And when they cry or are upset it gets darker. As for the yellow stuff it looks like it could be a bit of cradle cap. Just put some cream on it. And keep it moisturised. X
