is it bad to travel in car for 5 hours?

I'm 17 weeks pregnant.

And we're driving from Boston to NJ to visit family.

Obviously we're gonna take a couple stops, maybe like 2-3 but most of it will be driving.

Is this safe for baby?

Your fine. I'm 30 weeks and live in Worcester ma and have been in NJ for two weeks. We didn't take any breaks. Safe travels!

Definitely fine! We have driven farther when I've been in my third trimester. At that point it's just not much fun because your baby is so big, the pressure compresses some veins and nerves and it causes swelling. You should be good to go!

Totally fine. We don't even limit people in the 3rd trimester. You're not going to labor so quickly that you couldn't get to a hospital. 🙂

It's fine just get out of the vehicle and stretch your legs and stay very well hydrated. It's a bigger concern in the third trimester.

I go home every other weekend just about and it's a 5 hour drive we stop 2 times and I'm 26 weeks tomorrow my ob doesn't have a problem with it at all and I've had a great pregnancy so far

Yeah! You should be perfectly fine! My step mom was pregnant with my little brother when we took a trip to Disney! We drove from Pennsylvania to Florida and she was perfectly fine

Check with Doctor first, but unless you are high risk, this is fine.  It is during your third trimester that you want to avoid these kind of long trips.  And that is MOSTLY because you can go into labor and will need to get to a hospital.
