waxing down there

What experiences have y'all had with waxing your vagina? How bad did it hurt? Did it leave a rash or any bumps? I kinda wanna try it bc my prom is coming up and I just wanna make it a little more special with my bf if it's like perfect down there haha since we'll be spending the night together. (P.s Don't worry I'm on birth control) :-)
