Feeding

My baby is formula fed. I've been feeding him 6 oz every 3 hours. He eats from 7 am until 7 pm. I thought by now he should go every 4 hours. I'm not sure if I'm feeding to frequently. He doesn't nap really so I'll try to get him down for a nap for a whole hr some times and then I see it's been 3 hr since he ate so maybe I should feed him then try to put him down for a nap again.
