Question About Shaving/Trimming Bikini Area (pesky red bumps/irritation)

Awkward question time, y'all! I have a dance performance this Saturday... Because I'm so bright, I trimmed "down there" this morning and my skin is already getting quite irritated. Do you guys have any tips or tricks for reducing the visibility of red bumps and alleviating both itchiness and irritation? I'm such a newbie at this (sad, but true) ㅠㅠㅠ I'm also super sorry about the awkward question >///<
