Best method of birth control and prices??

So I'm 20 years old and I'm thinking about finally going on birth control just so my boyfriend and I can be on the safer side of things as much as possible. What's the best method of birth control and any ideas on prices? I was considering getting the depo shot because I would forget to take the pill and I'd rather not risk it, so can someone give me a little insight on the shot? Thanks!
