How do we Elope?

Question

My partner and I are wanting to elope. 
I've tried to look up what we need, how to do it, where to go etc etc but can't find much. 
I'm in NSW Australia. 
If anyone can help me that would be excellent! Thank you!

Everyone's telling what eloping is but we know what it is lol. We're just wondering what is the process that we need to do. Where do we start?

get your marriage license then call a judge that will marry you guys. that's what we did & honestly i liked it better than a big wedding. good luck & congrats💕

Depends where you want to do it. If you're wanting to do a destination elopement then contact a travel agent that specializes in offshore weddings. They'll workout all the paperwork to make it legal. If you're wanting to do it in your country then go through the proper channels you would need to if you were actually having a wedding. For example, in the USA you'd need to go to the courthouse and get a marriage license which would have to be filled out and filed by a licensed ordained minister after the nuptuals.

My husband and I eloped. We went and got our marriage license and they gave us a list of judges we could call. We called one and were married 3 days later. :)

My brother got married outside of the courthouse by a fountain. Just parents and siblings were there. We went back home and had a party. It was sweet.

My mom and dad "eloped" at the same courthouse. They didn't tell anyone except their witnesses, who were their friends. Her mom (my grandma) was upset about being excluded. My grandparents ultimately threw a small reception at the VFW for my parents to celebrate.

Like the commenter before said, you just go to the court house and get it done. The information about it should be on your local municipality's website. It's a legal process. But you can make it sweet too. Just be mindful of who you are excluding and why so that you know you're making the right choice for you two!

It's not like there's an 'elope' office. Really it's just a matter of being of legal age and going to court. You have the idea that you need to go far away to elope, which isn't necessarily true. You can go to nearly any court house and 'elope.' But you won't get the big flashy wedding. You won't have all your friends and family there. You just have your partner and your marriage certificate. But if that's enough, then try looking into court houses near you that wed couples.
