Smoking and ttc

Julie

Opinions please. My partner and I never got the baby urge until I accidentally fell pregnant at the age of 36. That ended in a miscarriage at 8 weeks.

Since then we've been trying again desperately. Unfortunately, I've been a fairly heavy smoker since the age of 16 (bout 10 - 15 a day). I keep quitting then relapsing, but have now not had a cigarette for about six weeks (cold turkey too!).

I wondered whether I've irreparably damaged myself? Has anyone else quit at my age and gone on to have a successful pregnancy?

Probably clutching at straws now, but success stories would help!
